Young and impetuous, Alexis left the Moot when he was very young, hoping to earn a commission in the Imperial Army. Unfortunately, a lazy eye left him ineligible for the forces, but he managed to earn a commission as a Roadwarden, a guardian of the roads.

Since then, he's faced maddened mutant bandits, goblin ambushes, and a wizard. As part of Viktor's commission, Alexis was tricked into believing that the expedition to Untergard was to be under the Emperor's protection, and believes himself to be responsible for the expedition's safety until they reach Middenheim, to be handed over to the Middenland Roadwardens.
