INR and O.M.N.I.: Requiem TPB
Requiem, the second TPB written by Leonard Warrens, opens with a bang: an O.M.N.I. factory wall is levelled by a massive thunderstrike. By using a reliquary borrowed from the Church, Sanctity's powers have greatly improved, and she knocks out all of the guards effortlessly. Krieger tries to stop her, and the two of them have an altercation as she chokes the life out of him and his men by evacuating the air around them. (Krieger's only superpower up to this point: he manages to speak for three minutes with no oxygen.)
Dust Spider, Desecratress and Ddh'llazsos stop Sanctity, only to be hit by Ignorant Mass' pickup truck. Meanwhile, Sister Teresia and Doc B sneak into the facility while O.M.N.I and Ignorant Mass fight, only to discover INRI on an assembly line. At first they rejoice in having rescued him, but their joy turns to shock as they realise that the room they're in has thousands of INRI boxed up and ready for shipment under the brand name "iGod."
Sanctity, meanwhile, is giving in a bit too much to her avenging angel side; she has to be knocked out by Sister Teresia, who retrieves the relic in a zero-point bubble. Meanwhile, Fireaxe (who the group leads around in handcuff and chains, indicating that after King of Kings he's a prisoner of INR) helps the team out by tracing the manufacturing process to a vault, where they find INRI's nearly-destroyed body inside. Stealing it and an iGod, the secondary team escapes as Ignorant Mass pulls away in his pickup truck with Sanctity in the back. The two teams meet up on the shores of the Rogue Isles.
Hiding out in a cave near the harbour (the original plan was to have Sanctity fly them out in a tornado, but she doesn't strike them as a safe bet), Fireaxe repairs the original INRI, who gives a tearful goodbye to Ignorant Mass before offlining permanently. As the group recovers from this loss, the iGod wakes up, stating "the memory download has completed". INRI downloaded himself wirelessly to the robot before expiring.
O.M.N.I. arrives and makes a second attempt to acquire INRI back, using the Prototype iGod. ("He's just as functional," Krieger tells the group, "we just like to build them bigger first.") INRI makes like he's getting into a fighting pose, and then the entire team teleports away. Krieger asks the Prototype why it didn't stop them, and it tells him "Not... Yet..."
Desecratress shrugs off their failure to retrieve INRI, stating that they have thousands of the good, useful iGods (note Prototype's eyes get darker); Dust Spider nods, but Krieger looks up and says, "No, we don't, not anymore." He falls to his knees as he realises...
The last page of the comic shows that INR teleported back to the factory, left unguarded, and demolished it. The only iGods left are INRI and the Prototype iGod. INRI thanks the group, and in a conversation with Sanctity, decides he's not INRI so much as INRI's son, and renames himself Inheritor to reflect that. The group then teleports back to Paragon City.
