In Nomine Redux: Exodus

Continuing the story of In Nomine Redux: Genesis, Exodus (as it is colloquially called) starts in media res, with Sanctity about to capture a Crey scientist in order to fix INRI. She is obviously quite unkempt, covered in dirt and grime; she appears not to have slept in many days. She seems a little off-kilter from the Sanctity we normally see. She moves to capture the scientist when two seemingly-related characters, claiming to work for "Father", prevent her from doing so. They accuse Sanctity of turning rogue against the very teachings she once espoused, which leads into a tedious ten-minute flashback detailing many of the early events of Bless the Child, especially the falling out between Sanctity and Ignorant Mass. Sanctity manages to escape, but can't shake the feeling the two unnamed heroes gave her...

Meanwhile, Sister Teresia and Fireaxe are able to find INRI's former constructor, who agrees to rebuild him... but she instead slips away with INRI's Sacred Spirit Matrix. Thus begins the hunt for INRI; eventually, it is discovered that he has been captured by O.M.N.I., who wish to use him as a prototype for the iGod. There is a brief showdown in the O.M.N.I. lab, but it is interrupted by the arrival of the same two mystery characters, who make off with INRI. Sanctity has the opportunity to blast them, but cannot bring herself to do so. Instead, she and Doc B follow the pair back to their lair... where they discover that "Father" is Ignorant Mass!

While Metraton and Haamiah watch the scientist that Ignorant Mass hired as he fixes INRI, Sanctity and Ignorant Mass attempt to reconcile their differences, and Sister Teresia points out that O.M.N.I. still has INRI's blueprint. The family reunited and INRI repaired, In Nomine and In Nomine Redux pair up to face down their ultimate enemies... O.M.N.I. and its army of iGods.

Issues

Many fans note that this movie is all over the place in terms of its storyline; it draws elements not only from Bless the Child, but also the INR/O.M.N.I. crossover Requiem, and adds in a completely different retelling of the reunion of Sanctity and Ignorant Mass. (INRI was never saved by Haamiah and Metraton, for example, nor did Haamiah and her brother know that "Father" was Ignorant Mass.) Furthermore, INRI does not become Inheritor; instead, the movie uses a "cop-out" where INRI seemingly self-repairs in order to help the team destroy the O.M.N.I. factory.

Purifier fans remain furious that he does not show up in the movie, and that he is only obliquely referred to as the reason for Sanctity and Ignorant Mass' split.

Mike Montoya still categorically refuses to talk about the movies, despite the fact that it is well-chronicled that his second fight with his cannabis addiction began just as Exodus was going into post-production.
