In Nomine: Faith and Glory (TPB)
About a year after the cancellation of the Cross series, a leaked manuscript of the Faith & Glory storyline (which tied together all of the elements that were left hanging in the wake of the cancellation of In Nomine) caused Cross to bow to internet pressure. They released the first (and only) trade paperback for the classic series. Called Faith and Glory, the comic represents some of the best writing In Nomine ever had.
The TPB opens about a year after the In Nomine: Disbanded?! storyline. In Nomine has become a red-headed stepchild in the media, despite having gotten back together under good circumstances. It seems that Dominic's slagging of the team has not been written off as due to the Midnight Carnival. Most of the stories spread by Dominic (and the Church) have been accepted as fact. While working through this, In Nomine learns about a massive ritual being attempted in Perez Park and mobilize. Trouble rears its head when the team discovers that the Pantheon is about to perform the same ritual it did on Dark Astoria. After evacuating the park as much as possible, In Nomine is left with the question of how to deal with the ritual, which will kill most of their hated enemies in the park and possibly even make the city safer. Also, with their new gear, they could monitor rhe ritual and use the information to help MAGI come up with a cure for the mist in Dark Astoria.
Ultimately, however, they all come to the decision to stop the ritual, leading to an epic fight that was ruined by bad art.
The moral wrestling in the comic is impressive, and the underlying themes of the TPB are much closer to the mature In Nomine Redux imprint. Faith and Glory is in many ways a bridge between the old and the new series.
