Leah Arkady

Description

Leah is an extremely tall woman, standing 5'11. She is highly fit, and tends to dress as though she's a ganger. This is backed up by the myriad of tattoos she wears across her body:

-a huge Tree of Life with a purple snake winding around it on her back;

-an "earthfireairwater" ambigram between her collarbones;

-a troll thrash metal single's cover (Projectile Storm's Brass Matter single, a troll's fist punching through her thigh, holding a pair of ripped-off human testicles that have been painted gold)

-a "tribal tattoo" around her left bicep, which incorporates (and most importantly covers, except under UV) a barcode.

Leah also sports blue, short, spiky hair. This seems to be a dye job and cut that she's done herself; it's certainly not 'professionally' messy. Her eyes are brown. She typically wears khakis, a huge leather jacket with armored plates underneath, and a blue t-shirt with sneakers.

Personality

Leah is often thought of as 'cold' or 'bitchy', but the truth is, she just doesn't know how to relate well to people. (When most of her childhood interactions with people involved 'shoot them', 'kidnap them', or 'take orders from them', it's easy to see why this is the case.) Leah doesn't even have a good grasp on how to scare people; she's only scary because when she threatens you, she follows through. (More than one person has gambled on her not meaning it when she said "I'll shoot"... and lost.)

Leah had basic corporate etiquette drilled into her by Fuchi, and still finds it hard not to hand out business cards to every new potential contact she meets.

In almost any other social situation, Leah will hang to the back - until something she disagrees with comes up. Then, she is vociferously against that idea until a new one arises.

With Improved Invisibility, Leah is the ultimate wallflower, and she takes that role often.

Leah tends to spend her free time exercising or spending time at Troll Thrash Metal clubs (such as The Meatgrinder). Other hobbies include drinking excessively and getting into fights at The Hate Club, drinking with Jakob, and picking on Vincent.

History

• 2027: Leah is born on April 16, 2027, in London, England.

• 2031: Leah awakens as an aspected Hermetic mage. Her parents are approached by a representative from Fuchi, who tells them that they will be paid handsomely if they sign Leah over to Fuchi. The amount is too large for her parents to say no to, and Leah is transferred to Fuchi's English branch to begin training.

• 2033: Leah, after two years of magical training, is moved to Fuchi's Canadian branch. There, she is put in the care of one Matthew Graves, under the auspices of the Arcadia Division.

• 2033-2049: Leah continues training with Fuchi's magical advisors and with their security teams. She is taught how to wield and maintain a pistol, fight if disarmed, bypass basic security systems, and sneak into secure locations unnoticed. She is also taught how to read auras and control spells, particularly those that are useful in infiltration, kidnapping, and assassination (armor, control thoughts, detect enemies and individuals, improved invisibility, and mind probe). These skills and spells come in particularly useful when she is deployed on "internal affairs" missions. Mainly, she is sent to deal with business associates within Fuchi that have made intimations towards leaving, dispose of evidence, and otherwise remove internal threats to Fuchi's security. She and Graves develop an odd mentor/protégée relationship, in which he often presents bizarre challenges and tasks for her to complete. These "tasks" reveal bits and pieces of the greater story of Arcadia Division.

• 2050: The jobs that Graves assigns Leah become more infrequent, and the facts his "challenges" reveal become more disturbing. As Leah understands it, there is pressure to remove Arcadia Division from Fuchi's roster - possibly violently. Graves is considering leaving. Leah tells him that if he goes, she is going with him.

• 2052: Graves shows up on Leah's doorstep, holding his guts in. He hands her 20,000Â¥ and her files and tells her to run for it. She does, narrowly evading Fuchi's other troubleshooters. She manages to find a home in Humber College with a bunch of shamans. Ghouls roam the streets, but hellhounds and spirits defend the dorm house, so it's relatively safe. She tries to pick up some amount of street culture, sneaking into troll thrash clubs. She also starts hanging out at a local hotel bar, where she meets Jakob.

• 2053: Leah meets up with the group.
