Cult of the Imminent Eschelon

A group dedicated to the worship of the newly erupted mutants, they are the ones in the mutant universe to coin the term "Nova" to describe super-powered beings. Their complicated religious beliefs boil down to: Novas are superior to man, and each member of the Imminent Eschelon has a duty to see Novas made supreme in the organization of Earth by immediate physical force. They are in extreme theological opposition to The Church of Michael Archangel.

Each cell is led by an Eschelon, someone who acts in accordance with Novetic laws more harmoniously than any of the other members. He or she is raised to this level by a group of three other Eschleons, who perform a very long ritual involving praying and testing the candidate's faith and commitment to the project. The newly formed leader then takes on the title of Eschelon, forsaking his baseline name. They then go on to recruit their own following from the other three Eschelons and form their own cell. Eschelons are predominantly Novas.
